He was in novice division as a 7th grader, and faced mostly 9th graders. The Lincoln Douglas debate topic currently is:
Resolved: The abuse of illegal drugs ought to be treated as a matter of public health, not of criminal justice.
These are some of Alexander’s flows of debate rounds he competed in. He did REALLY well, breaking into Octafinals! All the Classen teams dropped in Octafinals, however, and none advanced to quarters.

It was a treat to see this amazing sculpture exhibit of mustangs today in Las Colinas, Texas.
There is a similar sculpture in Oklahoma City down on the river near Bricktown. These are photos I took this summer on the river boat ride.
I’m not sure if the same artist is responsible for both, but they are both VERY impressive sculptures!

A few years ago Alexander flew with me to Washington DC, and we had a layover in Chicago. He saw Lake Michigan from the air for the first time then, but yesterday he saw it IN PERSON for the first time. Very impressive!
Rachel is with me (Dad) today at the University of North Texas, and among other things is going to teach my pre-service education students about AudioBoo. This was her practice “Hello” on AudioBoo this morning.
We’ve got some good dancers in our family! And some brave kids!
Check out lots more pics from Saturday’s fun at Frontier City’s “Fright Night” in this Flickr set. Also check out episode 5 of “The Zebra Print,” which Sarah and Rachel recorded LIVE from the top of the ferris wheel at Frontier City Saturday night!
